The Olympic Torch runs by…
I was out with my family today standing at the end of my road watching history in the making and it was really amazing. Nothing more strong than seeing a community (my Neighbours – note spelt the Canadian way as it was in Grimsby Ontario).
It was interesting…we saw the red truck in the distance coming towards us and we all got excited and started cheering, when it pulled up, was music blasting and people waving on the Coke truck. a girl jumped out of the van and gave a pile of flags to a girl standing beside us asking her to hand them out. The van then drove away. Then nothing.
There was about another 5 minute wait for the next Coke Truck with music blasting; and dancing coke representatives. Then following was the RBC truck with dancing…bank people ? Not sure about that one.
then…nothing.
Yep. Nothing. It was actually kind of funny. Everyone starred at each other and wondered what the heck just happened.
Then the moment came….a runner with a flame and the feeling of pride of being a Canadian rised among all of us.
It was a great feeling, and one that was wonderful to share with my family and neighbours. Not to mention, I loved the all the advertising.
