Ice Cream Chronicles #4 – Hewitt’s Ice Cream (Hagersville)

There is much more than the tire fire in Hagersville.  The special feature of Hagersville is this amazing Ice Cream shop off hwy 6 that makes their own ice cream. It’s called Hewitt’s Dairy.    The bonus was that there is a 50′s like diner where you can sit down on a stool beside someone else and watch your meal being made by the fine Chefs of Hagersville.

So today’s shared story with you is our experience “eating” at the diner AND the amazing Ice Cream they made  on location.   My associate Peter Corbiere and I like to take our lunch breaks (and we talk business of course) at locations that provide authentic Ice Cream that is made on site and has the options of more than Vanilla and Chocolate coming out of a machine.

Today’s choices included:  Maple Walnut along with a Pralines and Cream on a standard cone (Peter and I are both Waffle Cone lovers!).  Amazing and delicious.   Prior to Ice Cream we both had the “special” of Peameal on a  Bun.  Also referred to as “Back-bacon” to my American associates.  All washed down with a Chocolate Shake that was still served in the Steal Can, I’ll call a cup.  Please note the cup was still frozen when served (See pic)

The Staff was amazing and friendly.  I’m sure they were getting frustrated with both Peter and I, as we were asking so many questions like “So what’s on the menu”, when it’s clearly on the board.   She was pleasant enough to point to it…not once, but twice!    The best part was our placemats where paper with the words “bienvenue” and “Welcome“.

Now that’s good eats!
