Did you get your NEW forest…I mean yellowpages book today?
I have written about this many times in the past. I walk into my office and there is a skid, YES…A SKID of Yellow pages books. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!. It’s 2010; with more people with home computers, laptops, ipads, playbook, blackberry, iPhone, Android and I’m getting a MASSIVE book with phone numbers.
This has to stop, and I’m thinking that the Yellowpages should be a subscription based service. If you really need the 10,000 page book around your house to find a phone number then you should pay for it. I can see as well that the yellowpages is trying very hard to even say that they are online through their iPhone app.
You can see they even used up their own pages to promote using mobile app use. I’m thinking that the YP should be in a iBook format. That way we can access through it electronically. We have the government telling me to not use electricity or waste throughout the day, then I see this massive NOVEL of phone numbers arrive at my office.
I’m not even a fan of the yellowpages, as I find their information limited. You can pretty much find anything you want through other sources. I guess the guy in charge at Yellowpages is over the age of 60 and just loves to print books. Or he has interest/ownership in the printing company to make some money on the side.
Whatever it is, I’m getting frustrated looking at this waste of paper telling information that is available online.

I completely agree. I don’t remember the last time I actually used the giant phone book in my kitchen drawer. If I need information I’ll look for it on Canada411 or some similar service that is not only more convenient but much more useful as well. When I’m on the go I can find just as much if not more information on my iPod Touch or Blackberry than that massive waste of resources.
