CRTC – might regulate how much bandwidth we can use!

Adam Oldfield, President of FPM Marketing (FPM3) was on 900 CHML, Bill Kelly today to discuss the impact that the capping our internet bandwidth will have.

The bottom line for EVERY Canadian is that it WILL impact how we use and build stuff for the internet.    The internet has spoiled us.  We live, think and entertain ourselves with it.  Now, we are being told that we are no longer allowed to enjoy the full capacity of it unless we pay for it.   This is like having EVERY road we drive on be a toll road.   It’s like watching TV and then it shutting off, or you getting a bill in your mail for another $100 because you watched more than 3 hours of programming a day.

How will this kill business?   It won’t kill it, but it sure won’t encourage companies to want to develop for the Canadian market.  Why would a company design a software online that needs to be downloaded and using bandwidth in Canada.  The market is now narrowed to a consumer that can afford it.   It might be made here, but will be used or promoted outside this country.

How can you help?  Stop the Meter!   Visit stopthemeter.ca and have your say to stop this insane capping of our bandwidth!

You can also listen to today’s 900 CHML show; at 900chml.com….that is IF you have enough bandwidth to listen!
