I’m going to come out and say this…I don’t believe that any Government body operating a business is  possible.  The truth behind running a business comes with the reality that days there isn’t any money in the bank, the owners don’t get paid.   It’s that simple.   No City operation running a business has this problem as they have  surplus access of cash.  When a small business needs money it has to prepare a business plan, ask a family member for assistance or dig into their own savings and provide.

HECFI is now being managed by 5 city councillors until they find a means to “operate” and have it run properly.   I’m actually glad they are doing this, but more so, should of been done about 26 years ago when it first opened.

I did apply to sit the HECFI board for their marketing and advertising committee.  I’m glad that I didn’t get the position.

I wish all the best to the Hamilton group that will be taking on the project of managing and operating of the HECFI locations.   I believe that it can do well but under a tight arm and watching all costs with the bottom line the only goal.
