Apple logic board goes again.
You know…you can love something so much and then it just falls apart. I had our MacBook Pro 17″ 2007 Logic board go down in August in 2008. It was about 1 month past warrenty and Apple was very gracious to help with fixing it.
Here I am about a year later (less than) and the same thing happens. The Logic Board goes again. I’m not going to sit here and complain about this….(ok to late)….but I’m a bit disturbed as this laptop wasn’t used that much. Almost never actually. I guess the sad part this this story is when we finally did start using it, the thing ended up getting fried. ARG. The bill: $950.
Apple saying that it’s not covered as it had a 90 day warranty on the $1000 replacement. I’d make it an expensive paperweight but I have a lease that mandates that it’s in working condition. I did some research on this and apparently this is a common problem with the Apple Mac Books in 2007 with the Intel chip. Well…lesson learned. Bottom line, there could be a Mac Book pro 17″ for a sale very soon.
On a positive note, the guys at Light Computer Centre were awesome to try to help me in getting this fixed under Apple Warranty. They did it the first time, however this time is a no go. I would suggest that if you are getting an Apple (I’ll wait a while before I get another) that you do so at Light Computer in Hamilton.
